File sharing...
Been having fun downloading music (MP3s) from the Internet using file sharing software? If you have a teenager, no doubt he or she has. But the fun is over. The RIAA, under authority of the DMCA, is searching the Internet looking for anyone who downloads music from Kazaa, Morpheus, Grokster, etc. They send a federal subpoena to your ISP to get the name and address of the account holder, usually the parent(s). Recent federal court decisions now require your ISP to turn you over to the RIAA. The copyright owner then files a lawsuit for copyright infringement against you. Call your attorney to learn how much it will cost you to defend yourself in a copyright infringement lawsuit. The law allows the copyright holder to collect $750 to $150,000 for each song you download. Don't think it can happen to you? Think again! Thousands of people have been forced to pay up and the RIAA is planning to sue thousands more.
