Setting up a new computer...
So your new computer shows up, you take it out of the box, fire it up, and think you are done. Not so fast! Due to the lead times on the operating systems and other software supplied by their authors to the computer manufacturers, the software you get with the computer is anywhere from a few weeks to a few months out-of-date. You must apply all the relevant updates to the operating system (Windows XP, for example), the browser, (Internet Explorer, for example) and the email client (Outlook Express, for example). Then you must install a spyware protection product that actually works (see spyware for an eye-opening look into that subject). All this can be done by you but unfortunately the updates sometimes collide with one another and can result in a very time-consuming and frustrating experience. Contact us and we will happy to come out and do all this for you, as well as migrate your bookmarks, email address book entries, and the settings and preferences for the operating system, browser, email client, Word, Excel, etc. We can also build all the icons you want and get rid of those you don't.
